Taynuilt, lying 6 miles from Kilchrenan through the wooded Glen Nant, is well worth at least one visit while in the area. There is a very popular tea room, an excellent grocers shop, antique shops, a butchers and a Post Office. The Bonawe Iron Furnace, built in 1753, and the first monument in Britain built to Lord Nelson are part of the Taynuilt attractions. Do not leave the area without a visit to the Ben Cruachan (Hollow Mountain) Hydro Electricity Power Station. Round things off with a game of golf at the Taynuilt 9 hole course by the shores of Loch Etive and complete a perfect day with a meal at the Taynuilt Hotel which comes highly recommended by locals and visitors alike.

Take a cruise down Loch Etive on one of the daily sailings which depart from the slipway in Taynuilt. Much of the scenery is not normally visible to the tourist as there are no roads along much of the loch and only those who leave their cars get to see the real Loch Etive.
Loch Etive Cruises operate from Easter to October from the pier at the end of the road that runs through Taynuilt.
They offer a ninety minute cruise leaving at midday and a three hour cruise leaving at 2.00pm every day except Saturday.
