MerPrint is a home based printing business situated outside Lurgan in County Armagh, Northern Ireland. It began trading in July of 2003, the business being started by Mervyn King who moved into the printing sector to avoid going back to the daily grind of working in a multi-national environment (to maintain some sanity, a la Dilbert!). From an initial slow beginning with most days spent on the road seeking orders, we now have an established customer base of just over 100 clients and our work is recognised as being of top quality, having won the Foilink card of the month award on three separate occasions. The main focus of the business is the production of foil printed goods, mainly business cards, which are produced using the traditional method of foil blocking. Our blocking machine, a Marshall Series 80, was purchased through Foilink (the National Foil Printers Club) as a consequence of attending one of their three-day training courses in Todmorden, West Yorkshire, where we received the best possible grounding in the techniques needed to achive top quality results. Our prices for foil stamped goods are among the keenest in the UK and Ireland, and our aim is maintain and expand our customer base by giving a fair deal for first time orders, whilst offering fixed rates of discount on all repeat orders placed. The charges for artwork are minimal unless the design is intricate or complicated, and you will receive a black and white proof for every order before we start the plate making process. All our cards are printed using 16 guage zinc plates which are safely stored so as to be available for repeat orders when necessary. Leather goods are printed using 8 guage plates because the material is softer and therefore more receptive to the plate - this does make the plates slightly more expensive when printing key-fobs etc. Please have a look at our list of satisfied clients and pictures of the cards created for them.
