Foil Printing ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~

Foil
printing or foil blocking, as it is sometimes known, is an old but trusted
method of applying foil, usually metallic, to the face of a piece of card
or other material to give a professional looking print on the surface. For
those of us who use a manual blocking machine this can be a slow and time
consuming operation, but it does have it's advantages over other types of
printing.
Modern plate making techniques mean that the old practice of type-setting is generally fading out as printing plates can be produced at short notice. |

Small order quantities can be produced with reasonable economy - the customer only pays for what he/she needs. Quality is superior to other forms of printing (assuming the process is correctly administered). The same result can be achieved time after time as your printing plate is usually stored by your printer for repeat orders. This means your first order could be on black gloss card, but your next order could be on black plastic using the same plate. We can send out samples
of finished cards if you would like to see some of our work, or samples
of foil if you want to do a colour match before ordering. Obviously gold
and silver are the two most requested colours, but there are plenty of
other shades to chose from!
